Auto-upgrade feature will be removed starting from v4.6.1

Since v4.1 release, Oempro includes “auto-upgrade” feature which can be executed from the admin area and it downloads the most recent Oempro version from Octeth servers, upgrades both files and databases automatically without any interaction.

However, we noticed that it’s causing problems more than benefits. Oempro is an on-premise software which runs on customers servers and we are unable to control the environment it runs. There are thousands of environment possibilities and it’s almost impossible to make it problem-free. Continue reading

Gmail’s new image proxy feature and quick work-around

As you have probably heard, Gmail has released a new feature called “Image Proxy”. Before digging into Oempro for a work-around, let me explain what this feature is all about.

When you send an HTML email to your recipients, images inside the email are not displayed to them by default. This is almost the same for all email clients and apps. Gmail displays “Show images inside the email” link on the top of the email and until the recipient clicks that link, images are not displayed. Continue reading

Email relaying services for users who don’t want to struggle with delivery problems

Email delivery is the most difficult task when it comes to email broadcasting. If you are sending an email to a few tens of people, you will not notice any difficulties. You can even send through your very own Gmail account.

But when it comes to send an email to a few hundred, thousand of ten thousands of email addresses, the email deliverability comes into the play and has a direct role over your email marketing success.

What ROI you will get from your email marketing will depend on how you manage your email deliverability.

This is a task which requires a great know-how experience, full-time dedicated monitoring, good ISP relations and know what to do when your delivery IP addresses have trouble such as black listing, grey listing, etc.

If you are running an ESP such as Sendloop.com, then it’s wiser to have a full-time email delivery team which will monitor your mail servers, throttle delivery based on responses from target servers and keep your deliverability maximised.

But what about end-users who just want to send an email to their audiences? Keeping email delivery in-house will cost them much more than outsourcing it to professionals.

Oempro supports third party SMTP service relaying. This means, you can setup SMTP delivery method and let Oempro relay your emails through a third party SMTP service. To help you get started, we have listed some of the most popular email relaying services below:

You can send emails through any of these relaying services even you host Oempro on your own servers. In this way, you will not need to spend even a second on delivery problems and leave this difficult job to experts.

As a side note, you can setup different SMTP servers for each user group and split the delivery load to different third party services.

Introducing Oempro Email Design Testing Service

Email design is a tricky task. It requires attention and HTML coding skills. The success of your business depends how you send your email campaigns. A well designed/coded HTML email will increase your conversion rates.

Unfortunately, each email client on the market (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.) has its own HTML rendering standards. Unlike web browser world, there are tens of email clients. Making an HTML email rendered correctly and same on all those email clients requires lots of testing.

This is a time taking process and deplete your energy. To make it easier for you, we enabled special “Email Design Testing” service for all Oempro users. Instead of spending your hours testing your email on tens of email clients, you will see how your email looks like across 40+ email clients in just a minute. You will see *real* screen shots taken on all those email clients.

The good news, you can resell this unique service to your customers too..

To enable this service, simply login to your client area and click “Email Design Testing Service” link on the left side. Once you activate this service, you will find your integration API key in your client area and then follow these steps to enable the feature in your Oempro:
