Oempro4 Status Update

Hi Everyone,
We are receiving ~10 emails per day asking about the status of Oempro4 development. So, I decided to post a quick status update about Oempro4. Development is going pretty good. With the advantage of being used in a real life situation at Sendloop.com, Oempro4 is going to be one of the best application for;
- running an email marketing service just like Sendloop.com, ConstantContact.com, etc.
- sending email newsletters and tracking results for customers
- sending your own email newsletters and running professional email marketing campaigns
With the release of Oempro4, there will be slight changes in plug-in family of Oempro. OemBilling plug-in is going to be discontinued because it is included as a built-in feature in Oempro4. Some other plug-ins will also be discontinued and provided as a built-in feature. We will post announcement about this topic in following weeks.
We are also going to change pricing of Oempro4. There will be two or three alternative pricing plans based on users defined on the system. The prices of support service, user packs and add-ons will be announced later as well. So, it’s the best time to purchase an Oempro license now and get a free upgrade once Oempro4 gets released.
In Oempro4, we are going to add some key features which do not exist in other solutions or cost you several $$$ to make it functional. We are going to start promoting them in following weeks as well.
Octeth is a leading email marketing solutions provider company since 1999 and we have a great experience in this field. We notice that most users try to run their email campaigns through shared hostings which cause them more problems than they guess. With the release of Oempro4, we will suggest our users to host Oempro4 on at least virtual private servers (VPS) or dedicated servers. We will also start providing consultancy service to make their servers ready for successful email marketing deliveries with the highest delivery rates. This service will cover mail server setup, web/MySQL server setup, etc.
Another requirement of Oempro4 is PHP5. Sorry for this but PHP5 is far away better and we need to get the benefits of PHP5 to make Oempro4 more flexible and stable.
Some features of Oempro4 are server (or environment) dependent. We will post a detailed announcement about Oempro4 requirements later,to give you an idea, sub-domain support (just like in Sendloop.com) will be available for Linux users. Windows users will not be able to get benefit of it.
We are coming to the end of the development phase of Oempro4. We have almost 120 beta testers waiting to test it in depth. We are doing our best to make Oempro4 available to the community but as always I say, it will not be released before it gets ready and approved through our beta testing phases.
Oempro4 is going to be the best solution for anyone who is interested in building and running a successful feature-rich email marketing service for their customers.

Oempro v3.6.5 Released

It’s been a few months since the last Oempro update. In that time, we collected enough feedbacks from our fellow Oempro users and implemented them in Oempro v3.6.5 version.
Beside of Oempro v3.6.5 release, we also improved our service subscription pricing. From now on, upgrade and support service subscription can be extended for only $59 per year. You can download all new minor and major versions free and get benefit of our professional support service during your service subscription.
Thanks to Oempro development team for their great efforts on making v3.6.5 ready. In v3.6.5, there are mainly tens of improvements. Beside of improvements and bug fixes, we implemented a new feature which is called ‘Default Management’. You can now control your administrators (regular users) against their mail list settings and limit them easily.
If you have active service subscription, you can download Oempro v3.6.5 through client area. If your service subscription has expired, you can extend your subscription for $59 / year only.

Important Announcement About PHP4 Compability

As you may know, PHP4 is going to be discontinued by their developers by the end of 2007. You can read more about this important decision here and here.
We are now improving and updating our product source codes to get benefit of PHP5 functionalities. This will result with several incompatibilities with PHP4 environments. Unfortunately, the new benefits of PHP5 can not be used without dropping the PHP4 support.
We strongly recommend you to upgrade your web server PHP version from 4 to 5. Otherwise, you will have an unsupported PHP4 version in just a few months which may cause several security and script incompatibility issues.
To learn your PHP version, simply create a test PHP script and write the following PHP code inside that file:

Save and upload this file to your web server and run it through your web browser. If your PHP version is older than v5, we strongly recommend you to contact your hosting company and learn how to upgrade your PHP version.
The new Oempro version which is going to be released in just a few weeks will be PHP5 compatible and will not support PHP4. We are implementing special improvements in Oempro’s send engine modules and this action requires PHP5.

Hi Everyone,
For a while, we are developing a new email marketing software and it’s almost 50% completed. It’s being developed from scratch. It has a new completely rewritten back-end and new user friendly interface.
We decided to publish some introduction videos to give you an idea what’s going on at Octeth. While we are developing and improving our market leader product Oempro and Mailium, we are preparing to release our third email marketing application in a few months.
Newsletterium is not a replacement of Mailium or Oempro. It’s a brand-new application.
We will publish more about Newsletterium in the following weeks. Stay tuned on our blog for latest movies.
