Upgrading Oempro4

Important: Please take backup of your Oempro4 directory and database before upgrading to the new version

In order to upgrade your old version Oempro to the latest Oempro4 version, you need to have Oempro v4.0.0 or higher version installed. Unfortunately, Oempro3, Oempro2 and Oempro v1 versions can not be upgraded to the latest Oempro4 version.

There are two methods for upgrading your Oempro4 to the latest version:

• Manual upgrade
• Automated upgrade

Manual Upgrade

You can upgrade if you have at least Oempro v4.0.0 or higher version

Please follow these easy steps to complete your upgrade:

• Backup your Oempro4 directory on the server
• Backup your Oempro4 database on the server
• Download the latest Oempro4 version from your client area
• Unzip and upload all latest version Oempro4 files to your Oempro4 directory on the server

Important Note: If you are using Panic's Transmit FTP client on Mac OS X, be sure to select "MERGE" instead of "REPLACE". "REPLACE" option will delete all of the existing files from your Oempro4 directory before it uploads the new ones and this will cause your configuration files and data files to be deleted you previously had.

Important: If you are upgrading from an older version than v4.0.3, follow these additional steps:

• Login to your client area
• Download license.dat file again from "Downloads" section
• Upload license.dat file to oempro/data/ directory

• Run install utility which can be found at http://yourdomain.com/oempro4/install/

Once installation utility is executed, it will detect the upgrade and redirect you to the upgrade utility. Upgrade utility is a one-step process which will upgrade your old Oempro4 database and also perform required changes in the file system. Once upgrade is completed, you will notice a success screen.

Do not forget to delete the install directory after upgrading to the latest version.

Automated Upgrade [version 4.0.4 and Higher]

Whenever a new version gets released, your Oempro4 will detect the new version availability and inform you with a notice in the Administrator Area. Once you are ready to upgrade, you can just click that notice link and Oempro4 will show you FTP access information for your current Oempro4 installation.

Requested information is;

• FTP Host
• FTP Username
• FTP Password
• Oempro4 path on your FTP server

Once the request information is entered correctly, Oempro4 will download the latest version from Octeth server and upgrade your existing Oempro4 installation. This process may take several minutes. Please be patient and do not close your web browser during the process.
