What does “Conditional Personalization” mean and how it will improve your newsletter success?

Conditional Personalization feature will let you to customize and personalize your newsletter content based on your member information. This is a common feature for most email marketing softwares. But wait, there’s more in oemPro. You can perform more advanced personalization. Let’s say you have a mail list of 50,000 members and want to send out a newsletter. You want to start your newsletter with “Dear Judy” or the name what member has entered during subscription. But what about if member has not entered anything as his name? How to perform Conditional Personalization in oemPro? 

In oemPro, you can personalize your newsletter in the following way:

Dear %Member:CustomField1%

*** In this example, we assumed that “name” information exists on Custom Field #1

If you want to improve this personalization with oemPro’s advanced Conditional Personalization feature, then you can personalize in this way:

Dear %Member:CustomField1:EQUALS:??Sir/Madam::%Member:CustomField1%%

*** In this example, oemPro will check if Custom Field #1 of the recipient has a value or not. If it has a value, then it will parse the content as “Dear Judy”, else it will parse the content as “Dear Sir/Madam”

oemPro v3.6 is currently under Beta phase. This means that you can download it from your client area and use it on your test or production environment. There may still be some hidden or undiscovered bugs and they will get fixed as soon as possible upon your report.

In order to upgrade your existing oemPro (v3.3 or above), simply unzip v3.6 ZIP file and overwrite all changes files on your server (see below). Then run smart ugprade utility:

Today, we completed the setup of the new server for the new online service. It’s a Plesk powered Linux server with 1GB RAM with Zend Accelerator. It can handle the load of this new service easily for thousands of members ;)

We are getting closer to the release, quite excited!

Finally, we found a name for our new online service. We will announce the name and domain in a few days after putting a welcome page to the server.

Starting from tomorrow, Mert will be working on this new project and I think it will be ready in 2 weeks. It’s going to be a free online service for all application developers.

I will continue posting more news about this coming service in the following days. Stay tuned.

Well, we blow our heads with Mert since morning to find a good name for our coming online service. Wow, it’s too hard. We tried all possibilities with common keywords to find a good name but all domains were already taken.

Naming your application is quite important. For example, Wridea. Mert found this name, it is the combination of Write + Idea = Wridea. We are trying to find another name with this method, but i must admit that it’s too hard.

Anyway, it’s almost 4:30 pm and we still couldn’t find a good, attractive name for our new service. I think we will not leave the office until we find a good name.
